Today we fixed some minor glitches in the site and the database. Among these are some database errors and preventions of malicious code injection. It doesn't matter what is injected, the login doesn't have write rights at all. Also when loading the website the focus is at the textbox, so you can type the word directly. Lastly the irritating popup in internet explorer 7 and various others is disabled. For the time being interglot will not read your clipboard.

Thank you all for your continuous support throughout the year. Happy new year to everyone. We have grown another 50%, getting our unique visitor to 32.000+ (a week day) and the succesful returned translations to over 150.000 a day. This year we will introduce new services and new languages on the website. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to be added to the Interglot website, please let us know by mailing webmaster@interglot.com

We have installed a new server to handle the vast amount of queries done by -you- (and some other visitors). The old server couldn't keep up anymore and after various performance tweaks we decided it was time to invest in a completely new server configuration. We're currently measuring 600.000 pageviews a day and 100 queries per second on a normal weekday and we want to keep our fast and reliable reputation high. During the following days minor server glitches can occur because the new server isn't fully configured yet. We wish you a healthy and successful 2007!

Lately I get quite some mails from Mozilla Firefox webbrowser users. The toolbar I developed is for Microsoft Internet Explorer only. I will not develop a Mozilla toolbar in the near future. There is a mozilla tool available for download at mozdev. This tool is as powerful as our own toolbar.
The toolbar for Internet Explorer does not contain spyware. We made the toolbar with the microsoft wizzard, the same tool is used for a lot of spyware toolbars. Ours is not spyware, that was too much hassle to make!

Another year has passed by. Thank you all for your continuous support during 2005. Let's hope Interglot.com will grow as fast as it did during last year. We are on an average of 20.000 unique visitors and over 100.000 successfully returned search results a day. I hope to have some more spare time to invest in interglot during this upcoming year.

The toolbar is available for download now. The toolbar is tested on Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2 only. Anybody who has a different browser can email us with feedback or test results. The toolbar is installed underneath the Internet Explorer menu. You will get a glot button, which works without browsing to the Interglot website first.

Interglot is growing. We are breaking 50.000 page impressions a day (measured with nedstat). A lot of interesting suggestions are mailed to me, and one of those was a Toolbar. This toolbar should work like the google toolbar; you type in the word and press 'glot'. The toolbar directs the browser to our website and shows the results. Sounds cool right? That's what I thought as well. Did we develop it? Yes we did. Is it available? No it isn't. Currently I have a very preliminary version. I would like to test this version with a few visitors of the site. Anyone who would like to test this version, just drop me an email at: webmaster@interglot.com and I will send it to you. It requires a simple installation and the removal is pretty easy as well.

Everyone is back from holidays. We hope you enjoyed your time off and have fun back at work or at school. It seems the site was getting very slow during peak hours, where we service more than 10 search queries a second. A lot of people stay for a minute minimum on our site, resulting in 600 simultaneous users on peak hours. This is a lot. A design reconsideration had to be made to service this stress on our SQL database. Previously various updates on the database were made during queries by users. We moved all the updates to a midnight scheduled task, once a day. The whole system is now as fast as a skyrocket again. Have fun! More news to be announced soon.

We've expanded the database with 2500 new entries. These are all conjugations from verbs. A lot of people search for conjugated words or plural forms. Currently we don't have all variations in our database but the spelling suggestion system gets more advanced. Searching for 'is going to see' will result in the spelling suggestion system to suggest 'see', as your search query is a (wild) conjugation of the verb 'to see'.
As of now we don't have many plural forms in the database. A lot of people look for the word 'afspraken' in Dutch which is the plurar form of 'afspraak'. Soon we will have all plural database entries refering to the correct entries.

We've updated our client side javascript to make it work with Netscape. This is a contribution from one of our visitors (his name is Steven de Brouwer). Thank you very much for taking the time to adapt our code to netscape complient language. We've received a lot of email from users asking for this feature and now it's finally there.
A second minor feature implemented is the result page will now have the word in the textbox, in case you made a spelling error and would like to edit the word. We've had some emails regarding this feature also.

Welcome to Interglot.Com, by far the cheapest, simplest and most complete translation tool on the Internet. We designed Interglot with one thing in our mind: Speed. The rest you get for free! Currently we support translating between six languages, English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch and Swedish. Translating within one language will result in a list of synonyms.
The features thesaurus, conjugations, relations and wrong translation are not operative as of today. These are enhancement to be made in the near future. The main items ‘add interglot to your site’ and ‘customize settings’ are currently being worked on. These will become operational within weeks.
I would really appreciate some feedback of you regarding the usability of the interface and the results returned. You can leave all your comments at my email address webmaster@interglot.com. One word or a full story, every feedback is appreciated! If you are missing some functionality, or you would like to have a language added, please write me on above email as well. I cannot guarantee anything, but I can always try to make life easier for you.
The current version of interglot can be time stamped as a ‘final beta’. Most of the things are operational, but everything can be improved!
